Jeff Campbell will have some company.

Nick Mears of Bakersfield Country Club will join Campbell, also of BCC, in the 28th SCGA Mid-Amateur Championship at Rancho Santa Fe GC on April 16-17 after he advanced from qualifying at Rustic Canyon GC in Moorpark last week. And he did it the same way as Campbell did -- via a playoff. The Mid-Amateur is for players at least 25 years old that have indexes of 5.4 or less.
